A Steady, Reassuring KS3 Maths Tutor
Key Stage 3 is where secondary maths picks up pace and algebra arrives. I am Jill Irving, a former Further Education maths lecturer, and I help Years 7 to 9 students stay confident, fill any gaps, and build the strong foundations that make GCSE far easier.

The move to secondary maths can be a shock. The pace quickens, algebra appears, and it is easy for a confident primary pupil to suddenly feel lost. Key Stage 3 is the ideal time to steady things and fill gaps, well before they matter for GCSE.
I work patiently through whatever is causing trouble, from algebra to fractions, with clear explanations and plenty of practice, keeping your child confident and on track.

Common questions
KS3 maths tutoring questions.
What ages is KS3 maths tutoring for?
Key Stage 3 covers Years 7 to 9, roughly ages 11 to 14. It is the bridge between primary maths and GCSE, and a really good time to fill any gaps before they matter for exams.
My child found the move to secondary maths a shock. Can you help?
Yes, this is very common. The pace and the introduction of algebra catch a lot of children out. We steady things, go back over anything shaky, and rebuild confidence before it affects how they feel about maths.
Is KS3 too early to think about GCSE?
Not at all. Strong KS3 foundations, especially in algebra and fractions, make GCSE far less daunting later. Getting it right now is one of the best investments you can make.
Are the lessons online?
Yes, lessons are one-to-one and online with a shared whiteboard, so your child can learn from home anywhere in the UK.
